There is no nonstop option: business class from Fort Myers to Bucharest requires a connection, and the most reliable itineraries route through Atlanta or JFK on Delta before transferring to a European partner, or via Istanbul on Turkish Airlines, or through a Western European gateway to catch TAROM's own metal into OTP. Total journey time typically lands around 11.5 hours of actual flying once you account for the transatlantic leg and the connection, and travelers should know that Delta's long-haul segment is the one to prioritize for lie-flat comfort, since domestic connectors out of RSW are usually regional jets or narrowbodies with recliner seating only.
My preferred build for this trip uses Delta One on the transatlantic sector — either the Suites product on select 767/777 aircraft or the older but still comfortable Delta One seat on A330s — connecting through JFK or Atlanta, then onward via a joint-venture partner into Bucharest. TAROM itself operates narrowbody aircraft on regional European routes, so don't expect flatbed seating on that final leg regardless of cabin booked.
January through March and again in October and November are consistently the softest months for premium fares here, largely because Romanian leisure demand dries up outside summer and shoulder-season city breaks.
